Congratulations!
Planning a wedding can be both joyous and stressful! Here is some initial, necessary information as you start the process:
First, reservations for church facilities are on a first-come, first-serve basis. Community Church marries couples who are members or regular attendees of our church (Any others are based on pastoral discretion and availability.).
Second, the Pastoral Staff will then be consulted. We will try to honor requests for specific pastors, however, please realize this is not always possible. This next notice is very important: please wait for final confirmation that both the church and a pastor are available before making further plans.
The Pastoral Staff desires to thoroughly prepare each couple for married life. They want to promote lasting marriages under God and establish healthy, spiritual families. To facilitate pre-marital counseling, our pastors look for a minimum of 4 months between the first premarital appointment and the wedding date. The pastors will guide you through a personalized, thorough preparation process of at least four premarital counseling sessions utilizing Biblical instruction, premarital inventories and intensive education. Part of that process will be exploring your spiritual life and your personal relationship with Jesus Christ, individually and as a couple. In seeking to establish a marriage relationship based on God's design and purpose, couples are encouraged to pursue sexual purity and maintain separate living arrangements up to the date of the wedding. If you are divorced, your divorce must be final for at least one year.
Third, if the pastor agrees to conduct your ceremony, the final steps will be taken to finalize the date on the calendar. The Wedding Coordinator, in consultation with the pastor, will contact you regarding the steps to come!
We take these steps to make your wedding day, and ultimately your marriage, an incredible experience both for you and as a testimony to God.
