DOCTRINE AND DISCIPLESHIP
Increasing the quality of discipleship by communicating core doctrines of faith in a manner that not only aims to serve the mind’s need for rational answers but to demonstrate how these truths impact the way one lives their life, relates to others, and views the world around them.
What do you believe about God, about the universe, about humanity, about eternity? And WHY do you believe as you do? Do you know the great themes of the Bible, and how Christian theology compares with non-Christian ideas? If you were put on the spot by a friend who asked, “What is Christianity all about?” would you have an answer? Would you be able to show how the deepest needs and greatest hopes of every human being are met in Christ? Can you defend your faith?
We live in the midst of a war of ideas, and well-armed soldiers of thought seek to take captives! Are you fit to stand on the battlefield of belief? Do you know your way around the maze of multi-culturalism, naturalism, relativism, mysticism, materialism, and other “-isms”? It’s easy to brush this off as “impractical,” and “irrelevant.” But I want to prove to you that having a solid grasp of Christian doctrine and a good acquaintance with competing belief systems is relevant.
